Day 1: Begin of Tour Palangkaraya (Kalimantan) - Palangkaraya
Upon your arrival at Cilikriwut airport of Palangkaraya meet your guide then transfer to city hotel in Palangkaraya. Free at own leisure. Overnight in Palangkaraya.
Day 2: Palangkaraya - Rungan River (B/L/D)
After breakfast in Hotel you will be picked up from Hotel and transfer your boat in Palangka Raya harbor to start your journey. Cruise past the stilted and floating houses of the provincial capital and continue upriver along the forest lined river, passing villages. In the early evening, take a canoe through the shimmering black water lakes. Keep an eye out for proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and Brahminy kites. Return to the boat for a quiet dinner in the midst of the jungle.
Day 3: Rungan River (B/L/D)
The boat moves up the Rungan River as you enjoy breakfast. On arrival to Bapallas Island, take a motorized canoe to observe orangutans. Then continue to the BOSF Education Centre where adult orangutans are waiting to be placed on the pre-release islands. Learn about the BOSF rehabilitation programs. Leisurely lunch on board while cruising to Kanarakan, a tiny riverside village on the Rungan River. Arriving in the afternoon, welcomed by the village elder with Dayak Ngaju welcoming ceremony then stroll around the village with a local host to see the village home gardens, rubber field and rubber tapping demonstration, and other village livelihoods. Visit to the elder’s house and enjoy the traditional spiced coffee while sharing stories. Back to the boat and cruise down to Sei Gohong village. Optional walk up Tangkiling Hill to see the sunset, stopping along the way to see the colorful Dayak spirit houses and the huge boulder, Batu Banama, and hear about its legend. Overnight on board.
Day 4: Rungan River - Palangkaraya (B/L/D)
Enjoy your last breakfast on board, and then set off for an early morning canoe ride to Kaja Island, orangutan pre-release island, also visiting the black water lakes. Have your final lunch on board after lunch, checking out for transfer to Palangkaraya by car from Tangkiling. In the afternoon, you will go on a city tour around Palangkaraya before check-in to the hotel. Dinner at local restaurant.
Day 5: Palangkaraya - End of Tour Palangkaraya (Kalimantan) (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your next destination.

Important information for traveler: Outside of highly touristic regions like Bali there is only a limited touristic infrastructure available. Regular flight connections, restaurants and hotels (all classes from simple to high end) are limited. Flight cancellations and delays are quite common. Please don't expect amenities like warm water, air-conditioning and even comfortable beds at all hotels and homestays during the round trip. This applies especially outside of bigger cities.
Important information: All programmes and transfers by boat are on seat-in-coach base (group). You may be in a small group with other people.
