Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of Tour Denpasar (Bali) - Labuan Bajo (L/D)

Sunset in Labuan BajoYou will be picked up at your resort in South Bali and transferred to the airport. The flight from Bali to Flores will take approximately 60 minutes. Meet your personal guide upon arrival in Labuan Bajo. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, optional visit to the Batu Cermin cave near Labuan Bajo. The cave is home to scary looking spiders, and fossils can be found in the cave walls.

Day 2: Labuan Bajo - Komodo Nationalpark - Labuan Bajo (B/L/D)

Komodo dragonPick up in the early morning and transfer to Labuan Bajo harbor. Board a modified fishermen's boat for the trip to the Komodo National Park. The park was founded in 1980 and added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. The reserve spans die area between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. It is home to the endemic Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis). The animals can reach a length up to 2,5 meters and a weight up to 80 kg. Due to their size, leathery skin and forked tongue, they are often called the last dragons. Their tails can be a dangerous weapon. Even if they seem lazy, they can reach a speed up to 18,5 km/h. The main islands are Komodo, Rinca and Padar. First will be a visit to the ranger station on one of the smaller islands. A local ranger will take you on one of the many trails during your search for Komodo dragons and some of the other inhabitants of the island. You may see water buffalo, macaque or deer. Enjoy the view of the other islands from the steep hills. Later return to the boat and travel to Komodo island. The ranger post is the starting point for the different trails around the island. Choose a trail depending on clearance, shape and interests. Later visit to Pink Beach or Pantai Merah for snorkeling and swimming. The underwater world of Komodo is well known among divers and snorkelers. Meet colorful fishes between corals and sponges. Maybe you can see a sea turtle or a manta ray. Return to Labuan Bajo in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Labuan Bajo - End of Tour Denpasar (Bali) (B)

Important information for traveler: Outside of highly touristic regions like Bali there is only a limited touristic infrastructure available. Regular flight connections, restaurants and hotels (all classes from simple to high end) are limited. Flight cancellations and delays are quite common. Please don't expect amenities like warm water, air-conditioning and even comfortable beds at all hotels and homestays during the round trip. This applies especially outside of bigger cities.
