Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of Tour Medan/Kuala Namu (Sumatra) - Gunungsitoli - Gomo

Upon arrival at Binaka Airport of Gunung Sitoli then proceed directly to Gomo about 90 km drive. Along the road enjoy the most beautiful of view and the village of Nias. Arrive at Gomo check in at Anome, a simple guesthouse.

Day 2: Gomo (B)

After simple breakfast drive to visit Tundru Baho and Boronadu, the oldest villages where the first men of Nias ancestor lived. In this village there are many megalith stone which are very important in Nias culture.

Day 3: Gomo - Telukdalam (B)

After breakfast leave Gomo for Telukdalam and directly proceed to Bawomataluo village to see the traditional village with the King's house made from massive wood. Observe the megalithic culture and the way of life of Nias tribe, stone jumping (optional) and war dance (optional). Check in at simple homestay.

Day 4: Telukdalam (B)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning visit Botohilitano and Hiliamaeta Niha tranditional villages. Explore Orahili and Hilisimaetano traditional villages to see the habitual life of Nias tribe. Afternoon enjoy swimming at Lagundi beach.

Day 5: Telukdalam - Gunungsitoli (B)

After breakfast leave for Gunungsitoli and visit traditional village of Helefaniha. Then proceed to Tumori village to see the typical house from northern of Nias island. Afternoon visit Museum Pusaka Nias (Nias Heritage Museum). Check in at local homestay.

Day 6: Gunungsitoli - Sirombu (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Leave Gunung Sitoli for Sirombu, the west part of Nias island. Visit Onolimbu village and some megalithic stones at Mandrehe. Check in at local inn.

Day 7: Sirombu - Gunungsitoli (B)

After breakfast visit the oldest and the biggest statue stones at Moro'o. A short walking by foot to reach this place. Late afternoon return to Gunung Sitoli.

Day 8: Gunungsitoli - End of Tour Medan/Kuala Namu (Sumatra) (B)

After breakfast, free program until transfer to the airport for flying back to Medan.

Important information for traveler: Outside of highly touristic regions like Bali there is only a limited touristic infrastructure available. Regular flight connections, restaurants and hotels (all classes from simple to high end) are limited. Flight cancellations and delays are quite common. Please don't expect amenities like warm water, air-conditioning and even comfortable beds at all hotels and homestays during the round trip. This applies especially outside of bigger cities.
