Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of Tour Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) - Trus Madi Camp (L/D)

Pick up in the morning at your hotel in Kota Kinabalu for private transfer to Tambuan. The drive to the small town in the Crocker Range will take approximately one hour. Have an early lunch or collect your packed lunch at a local restaurant. The group of climbers will take a 4WD to the Forestry Gate. After registering and a short briefing by the rangers start the trek to Taman Kitingan. It will take 30 minutes to reach the starting point an another 3 hours to reach the rest house. The trail cuts trough heavy foliaged rain forest. Mount Trus Madi consists of five different types of vegetation—lowland mixed dipterocarps, hill mixed dipterocarp forest, lower montane forest, upper montane forest, and summit scrub. The forest's rich vegetation acts as a habitat for birds, wild animals, as well as a number of exotic flora. You will arrive at the rest house in the late afternoon. Dinner at the rest house.

Day 2: Trus Madi Camp - End of Tour Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) (B/L)

Wake up call for early supper (01:30 AM) and start of the trek to the summit of Nuluhon Trusmadi Tambuan. You will reach the summit around 05:30 AM. Stay for sunrise and have a break before you return to the rest house for lunch. The descent from the summit will take 3 hours. Return to the Forestry Gate after lunch. The transfer to Tambunan by 4WD will take 1 hour. Collect your certificate of achievement before you return to Kota Kinabalu.

- Medium difficulty (3/5): Certain physical demands and often lack of comfort. Participants should be in good health and with at least average physical condition.
- The daily limit of climbers at Trus Madi is 30 pax. The climb is only possible as part of a group (no private tours).
