Drive to the small harbor of Kumai on the banks of the Kumai River. Board your personal klotok houseboat and start the trip following Sekonyer River to Tanjung Puting National Park. It is home not only to the famous orangutans, but also family groups of Proboscis monkey (Nasalis Larvatus), endemic birds and colorful butterflies. There lives a rare species of crocodiles in the river, therefore swimming is strictly prohibited. Enjoy the ever-changing landscape on the river banks, from plantations to rain forest. Later Check-in and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 2: Tanjung Puting - Camp Leakey - Tanjung Puting (B/L/D)

Orangutan at Tanjung Puting © Rima SuharkatOrangutan at Tanjung PutingLeave the lodge in the early morning on your way to Pondok Tanggui. The camp is part of the national park. A short trek will take you to the feeding platform to see wild orangutans. After this first excursion, return to the boat and proceed to Camp Leakey. A small museum informs about the work of Dr. Birutè Galdikas for the orangutans of Borneo. Join another feeding at the platform in the afternoon. The way to the platform takes about 45 minutes, accompanied by a local ranger. Depending on the time of day, you may encounter some of the younger and more curious orangutans along the way. Please keep in mind to keep your distance, do not feed wild animals and follow the ranger's instructions. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Tanjung Puting - Pankalanbun - End of Tour Pankalanbun (Kalimantan) (B)
