Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of Tour Manado (Sulawesi) - Manado (D)

Start your sightseeing tour in the afternoon with a visit to the Dotu Lolong Lasut memorial. Dotu Lolong Lasut founded the city today known as Manado. He was a local chieftain who became a hero during the war against the Portuguese. Visit the Ban Hin Kiong Temple. The Taoist temple dates back to the 19th century and therefore the oldest temple in Manado. Next up are the sea-shell collection, the orchid garden, and a local seafood restaurant. Overnight at Manado.

Day 2: Manado - Minahasa-Hochland - Manado (B/L/D)

Stop in Tinoor for a beautiful view over the Mando Bay and the Bunaken Islands. Proceed through the clove plantations to Tomohon, passing the cluster of active volcanoes Mt. Lokon and Mt. Mahawu. Visit Lake Linow near Lahendong. The lake is known for colorful waters and sulfuric bubbles, both caused by volcanic activities. Continue to Kawangkoan and visit the local jungle market, where grilled rats, bats, and snakes are offered. Move on to Pulutan village in the region of Remboken at the edge of Lake Tondano to see traditional pottery. Lunch en route in Kasuang. Afterwards proceed to Sawangan village. A collection of ancient tombs known as Waruga can be seen there. Retrun to Manado in the afternoon. Overnight in Manado.

Day 3: Manado - Bunaken - Manado (B/L/D)

Bunaken National Park © Sarah NoakBunaken National ParkLeave the hotel after breakfast for the short drive to the harbour. You will explore the Bunaken National Marine Park today. The small islands are known as a first class dive destination. Approximately 70% of the fish species of the Indo-Western Pacific live in the region. Spend time snorkeling in the shallow bay of Bunaken Island. Lunch will be served on the beach. Return to Manado in the afternoon.

Day 4: Manado - End of Tour Manado (Sulawesi) (B)

Breakfast in the morning. Time until airport transfer is free at your leisure.
