Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of Tour Pankalanbun (Kalimantan) - Pangkalanbun - Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) (D)

Onboard, crossing Kumai river in approximately 15 minutes to reach Sekonyer river, the main river in national park. Lunch will be served on boat. Continue riding on boat about 2 hours to reach national park. At 16.30pm proceed to observe Proboscis monkeys along the riverbanks. Proboscis monkeys are being the endemic animal that can be seen only in Borneo. Dinner and overnight on the boat.

Day 2: Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) - Camp Lealey - Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) (B/L/D)

ThorntonOrang-Utan BorneoAfter breakfast, proceed upstream in to Pondok Tanggui the second rehabilitation center to enjoy many babies and juveniles at feeding area around 09.00am, taking pictures while having the information from your guide about them. Continue to reach the highlight of national park, Camp Leakey area. It will pass the black river which is full of wildlife within such as many kind of birds, primates, fish, also crocodiles. Arriving at Camp Leakey hiking track into the forest to gain information of the heterogenic forest wildlife while observing some wild animal as well. Return to the boat for having lunch. Following Orangutan feeding program which is being held at 14.00pm, bringing milk and fruits, feeders will lead us to the state platform and enjoy the situation until 16.00 back to the boat. Overnight and having dinner.

Day 3: Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) - Pangkalanbun - Lopus (B/L/D)

ThorntonBornean white-bearded gibbon (Hylobates albibarbis)Early morning breakfast on board, then direct transfer by car to Lopus village. The drive to the highlands will take around 5 hours. Lunch will be provided en-route. Upon arrival, check out the traditional longhouses and go on a sightseeing walk around the village. After dinner, a Bagondang ceremony will be held by the Dayak Tomun. This traditional welcome ceremony includes a lot of music, dance, and tuak. You may join the Dayak people during this festive time. Later return to longhouse for the night.

Day 4: Lopus - Pankalanbun (B/L/D)

Sightseeing walk around the village to see more of the traditional longhouses by the local Dayak tribe. Afterward, drive back to Pangkalanbun for another 5 hours. Lunch will be provided en-route. On arrival in Pangkalanbun, direct transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Pankalanbun - End of Tour Pankalanbun (Kalimantan) (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is at your leisure. Later transfer zur Pangkalanbun Airport.

Important information for traveler: Outside of highly touristic regions like Bali there is only a limited touristic infrastructure available. Regular flight connections, restaurants and hotels (all classes from simple to high end) are limited. Flight cancellations and delays are quite common. Please don't expect amenities like warm water, air-conditioning and even comfortable beds at all hotels and homestays during the round trip. This applies especially outside of bigger cities.
