Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Begin of Tour Pankalanbun (Kalimantan) - Pangkalanbun - Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) (D)

Onboard, crossing Kumai river in approximately 15 minutes to reach Sekonyer river, the main river in national park. Lunch will be served on boat. Continue riding on boat about 2 hours to reach national park. At 16.30pm proceed to observe Proboscis monkeys along the riverbanks. Proboscis monkeys are being the endemic animal that can be seen only in Borneo. Dinner and overnight on the boat.

Day 2: Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) - Camp Lealey - Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) (B/L/D)

ThorntonOrang-Utan BorneoAfter breakfast, proceed upstream in to Pondok Tanggui the second rehabilitation center to enjoy many babies and juveniles at feeding area around 09.00am, taking pictures while having the information from your guide about them. Continue to reach the highlight of national park, Camp Leakey area. It will pass the black river which is full of wildlife within such as many kind of birds, primates, fish, also crocodiles. Arriving at Camp Leakey hiking track into the forest to gain information of the heterogenic forest wildlife while observing some wild animal as well. Return to the boat for having lunch. Following Orangutan feeding program which is being held at 14.00pm, bringing milk and fruits, feeders will lead us to the state platform and enjoy the situation until 16.00 back to the boat. Overnight and having dinner.

Day 3: Tanjung Puting (Sekonyer) - Pangkalanbun - Pendukuhan (B/L/D)

ThorntonBornean white-bearded gibbon (Hylobates albibarbis)Early morning breakfast on the boat direct transfer to Kudangan by private car. It will take 4 hours. Lunch will be provided en route in the local restaurant. On arrival in Kudangan village continue up to Penyombaan village for starting point to do trekking. It will take about 2.5 hours trekking for 5 kilometer. You will pass by several rivers that floating down from the mount. On arrival in Pedukuhan, the Dukun or Shaman will do welcome ceremony. This ceremony is used for welcoming guest before enter a new forest or new rice paddy. Enjoy your time to see the real local people activities. Here you could see Jurung (rice storage). Dinner and overnight in the traditional house (longhouse).

Day 4: Pendukuhan - Pankalanbun (B/L/D)

Back to Pedukuhan, packing up and trekking down direct to Penyombaan village and drive back to Kudangan. Enjoy your time to see the longhouse before return back to Pangkalanbun by private car. Lunch will be served en route in the local restaurant. On arrival in Pangkalanbun direct transfer to the hotel. Dinner in the local restaurant.

Day 5: Pankalanbun - End of Tour Pankalanbun (Kalimantan) (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is at your leisure. Later transfer zur Pangkalanbun Airport.

Regular flight connections, restaurants and hotels (all classes from simple to high end) are limited. Flight cancellations and delays are quite common. Please don't expect amenities like warm water, air-conditioning and even comfortable beds at all hotels and homestays during the round trip. This applies especially outside of bigger cities.
